Planetarium - Eugenides Foundation
The Eugenides Planetarium is part of the Eugenides Foundation, which was created in 1954. The construction of the building infrastructure was completed in 1966, on Sygrou Avenue in Faliriko Delta where the Foundation has been housed ever since. In 2003 two new wings were added to the old building complex, one of which includes the new Digital Planetarium. The largest and best-equipped digital planetarium in Europe and America, with a vaulted screen surface equal to two and half basketball courts.
Such a state-of-the-art technological space is the most appropriate way to bring science and technology close to average person since its main goal is to improve the quality of scientific education in Greece and the widest possible dissemination of its scientific and technological of human achievements. It is a masterpiece of technology and modern aesthetics, which aims to combine education and entertainment. Since its inception it hosted more than 4 million visitors. The Digital Star View Systems included in the new Planetarium are 3D virtual reality systems.
