National Museum of Contemporary Art
The National Museum of Contemporary Art (EMST) was established in October 2000. The permanent restablishment of the museum is the former Fix brewery on Sygrou Avenue, the reconstruction of which was completed in February 2014.The building occupies 18142 sq. m. The museum collection is organized around an important core of works by Greek and foreign artists and is constantly enriched.
In February 2020 EMST opened to public in full operation. In the rooms of the permanent collection of the museum are presented 172 works of 78 Greek and foreign artists in three directions: Memoirs-Claims-Political narratives.
Boundaries and crossings, and Heterotropies – Mythologies of the familiar-New perspectives.
